Lawn mowing, edging and trimming

The difference between a mowed lawn and a finished lawn is the edge. We do both.

Anybody can run a mower across a yard. What makes a lawn look sharp is what happens after: a clean vertical edge along the walk, trimmed lines around the fence posts and trees, and every clipping blown off the driveway before we leave.

We mow at the right height for Valley grass, which usually means a little higher than people expect. Taller grass shades out weeds and holds moisture through a dry Salem August. Scalped lawns brown out and fill with moss.

One-time mows for a big weekend, a catch-up after vacation, or ongoing visits through the growing season. Ask and we'll set it up the way you want it.

What's included

  • Mowing at the right height for the season
  • Hard edging on sidewalks, drives and curbs
  • String trimming around fences, trees and beds
  • Clippings blown off all hard surfaces
  • Bed edge touch-ups
  • Notes on anything we see: moss, bare spots, drainage

When to book in Salem

Valley lawns grow hardest from April through June and again after the fall rains start. Mid-summer growth slows way down, especially on unwatered lawns, so the schedule should too.

Signs it's time

  • The edges along your walk have gone fuzzy
  • Grass is creeping over the curb
  • You're mowing but it never looks finished
  • Summer weekends keep disappearing into yard work

Lawn Mowing, Edging & Trimming FAQ

Do you offer one-time mows?

Yes. Plenty of our work is one-time: before a party, before photos, after a vacation.

Do you bag clippings?

On a regular mow we mulch them back into the lawn, which feeds it. On an overgrown lawn we bag and haul them.

How short do you cut?

Usually around three inches in the growing season. Cutting shorter stresses the grass and invites moss and weeds.
