Himalayan blackberry is the Willamette Valley's signature problem. Leave it one summer and it owns the fence line. Leave it two and it owns the back half of the lot. We cut it down, pull what we can at the crown, and haul every cane away.
Overgrown lawns get cut down in stages so we don't just leave a field of straw. Brush, saplings and volunteer trees along the property line get cleared. Anything buried in there, from old hoses to fence panels, gets found and set aside for you.

When to book in Salem
Late winter is ideal for blackberry because the canes are easy to see and nothing is nesting. Summer clearing works too, it's just hotter and pricklier. The worst time is next year.

We cut it and pull the crowns we can reach, which knocks it way back. Blackberry spreads by root, so a follow-up visit or two keeps it from coming back strong.

Do you take down trees?
